Regarding the size, we understand why it may have seemed smaller than expected. A radiant cut stone of 8*10mm is indeed a 4-carat stone; however carat refers to the weight of the stone, not necessarily its face-up size. Different cuts and settings can make stones of the same carat weight appear larger or smaller when viewed from the top. In your comparison photo, your halo setting also creates additional visual spread, which can make a lower-carat ring appear similar in size to a larger stone with a different cut and setting.
